Marketing analytics and measurement

Marketing analytics you can trace back to reality

Build a measurement system that connects visibility, journeys and enquiries. We audit the full path from a real user action to the report or notification your team relies on.

Working method

From user action to a decision-ready report

Define the action, verify the data path, repair the gaps and prove the final record with a real test. 01 Action 02 Capture 03 Verify 04 Decide evidence review

Engagement options

Start at the smallest level that can answer the decision

The scope is agreed around the workflow, people, systems and evidence required. You do not need to commit to a large programme before a focused diagnostic or pilot has earned it.

Tracking health check

Best for

A suspected gap, duplicate or broken conversion.

Typical output

Reproduction evidence, cause and a focused repair plan.

Measurement audit

Best for

A setup that has grown without consistent governance.

Typical output

Event, consent, source and reporting assessment.

Implementation project

Best for

A new site, GA4 property or measurement design.

Typical output

Configured events, validation and documentation.

Reporting system

Best for

Teams spending time assembling recurring reports.

Typical output

Decision-led dashboard, definitions and ownership.

Evidence standard: Every material event or notification is verified through a real test. We do not present modelled attribution or platform estimates as complete customer truth.

Jon Goodey in conversation during a practical team workshop
Founder-led and grounded in the room

The questions people actually ask shape the session.

Jon works directly with the team, using its roles, documents and live challenges to make the material useful beyond the workshop.

The aim is not tool excitement. It is a shared method people can repeat, review and improve once they are back at work.

Built around real work

A useful programme, not a generic tool tour

The exact examples change by team, but the programme is grounded in the following practical areas.

01

Measurement audit

We trace the journey from user action to report, checking tags, events, consent, referral handling and the business meaning of each conversion.

02

GA4 and tag implementation

Events and parameters are designed around the decisions the organisation needs to make, then tested in the browser and reporting interface.

03

Search and content measurement

Google Search Console, landing-page performance and enquiry data are connected so visibility can be assessed against useful outcomes.

04

Dashboards and reporting

Reports surface the few measures that need attention, with definitions, comparison periods and routes back to the source data.

05

Lead and form diagnostics

We verify that forms work, submissions are recorded and notifications reach the people responsible for follow-up.

06

Attribution with limits stated

Channel contribution is analysed without pretending that incomplete identifiers, consent choices or cross-device journeys can produce perfect attribution.

How the engagement works

  1. 1

    Define the decisions

We agree what the team needs to know and which user actions represent progress, value or a failed journey.

  2. 2

    Audit the data path

Implementation, consent, event payloads, platform settings and reports are checked from the live interaction through to the final record.

  3. 3

    Repair and document

We implement or specify fixes, create a measurement dictionary and record the limits of the available data.

  4. 4

    Validate with real tests

Key journeys are tested on the live or release-candidate site, then confirmed in the destination platform and any notification workflow.

What you take away

  • Measurement map and event dictionary
  • GA4, tag and consent audit findings
  • Implemented fixes or developer-ready specifications
  • Search Console and landing-page reporting
  • Form submission and notification test evidence
  • A dashboard with owner, source and refresh logic documented

Questions teams ask

What does a marketing analytics consultant do?

A marketing analytics consultant turns business questions into a reliable measurement system. The work can include GA4, tag management, Search Console, consent, dashboards, lead tracking and investigation of discrepancies.

Can you check whether our website forms are being tracked?

Yes. We test the visible form, the network request, the submission record, the analytics event and the notification route. A thank-you page alone does not prove that every part worked.

Do we need a new dashboard?

Not always. If the source data or definitions are unreliable, another dashboard adds confidence without accuracy. We fix the measurement layer first and only then design the reporting view.

Can GA4 show which marketing caused every enquiry?

No analytics platform can perfectly attribute every journey. Consent, cross-device use, offline conversations and privacy controls create gaps. We improve consistency and explain what can and cannot be inferred.

How do you measure AI search and AI Overview traffic?

We combine landing-page and referral evidence with Search Console trends, tracked question sets and manual result checks. AI visibility is still fragmented, so the method and its limits should be documented.

Can you work with our existing analytics setup?

Yes. The first step is normally to preserve and audit what exists. We only replace a setup when the current design cannot support the required decisions safely or efficiently.

Need to trust the numbers before making the next decision?

Tell us about the team, the workflow and what has prompted the conversation. We will recommend a proportionate first step.
