# Report acceptance checklist

Indexify | Practical reporting workflow resource | 11 September 2026

Use for one report. Adapt to your organisation. This is an operational checklist, not certification.

## Purpose and ownership
- [ ] Name the audience and the decision the report supports.
- [ ] Name the report owner, source owners and final reviewer.
- [ ] Agree a reporting period, time zone, deadline and comparison period.

## Sources and definitions
- [ ] Record the authoritative source and definition of every metric.
- [ ] Confirm access is approved and source refresh dates are visible.
- [ ] Distinguish missing, zero and not applicable values.
- [ ] Check duplicates and consistent filters.
- [ ] Document definition changes and breaks in the series.

## Calculation and commentary
- [ ] Reconcile totals against the source.
- [ ] Make calculations reproducible and test zero denominators.
- [ ] Reference evidence for factual statements.
- [ ] Separate observed changes from possible causes.
- [ ] Flag incomplete or incomparable inputs and hold affected conclusions.

## Release and recovery
- [ ] Require the named review before final distribution.
- [ ] Confirm delivery; generation alone is not delivery.
- [ ] Record source failures, notifications and who resolves them.
- [ ] Demonstrate the manual fallback and document recovery.
- [ ] Agree access, retention, support and change ownership.

## Measure the result
- [ ] Compare several equivalent reporting cycles.
- [ ] Include collection, preparation, review, corrections and upkeep.
- [ ] Separate capacity released from actual cash savings.
